Hello, and welcome back to the podcast. This episode is airing the week before New Year's or the week of I should say. And as we welcome in 2021, this is going to be such a key important episode for you to listen to all the way through because I want to help you achieve your goals. And not just a small goal, I want to help you achieve a really big goal for 2021. So if that's you, if you're thinking Yes, I want to do something amazing for my food business dream in 2021, this is definitely the episode for you. So it's obviously no secret that 2020 has been an insane year. And I hope that there's actually some good that you are finding that comes out of it. But I know so many of you are wondering if now is the time to start your packaged food business dream, or whether it's time to grow it and and really invest in that business dream. And I just want to say yes, yes, it is time. 2021 is your year, let's not put this off any longer. So many of you have been playing around in your kitchens and developing amazing recipes. And you think that you might just want to be an entrepreneur, or you realize that you really do love what you are making and you want to grow that into a bigger business, have that be your main source of income, your full time job, right? And like really grow your business. And I think this is your year. Okay, so if you're still with me, and you're like, yes, 2021 is my year, I want to do this, you're going to kind of set that goal in your head, and then you're going to immediately freak out right? And be like, I how I do that? I'm overwhelmed! I'm confused! You're gonna go into doubt. And I want to give you some tools in this episode to set that big goal. And some of the things that you need to know about how you're going to achieve this. And then in 2021, I will put on the first podcast about some of the next steps. So so almost be a two parter where you're going to want to listen to this one first and then follow it up with the action steps in the first episode of 2021. So the way we're going to achieve your goal, let's say, you want to launch your packaged food business, your amazing salsa, your jam, your kombucha whatever it is, you want to launch it in 2021. The way we're going to do this is actually to make the goal bigger. We're going to 10 times the goal as Grant Cardone would say. Or we're going to make it impossible. And why on earth would we want to set a goal that is impossible? So it's actually a little bit of a brain hack to set a goal so big that it does feel impossible, because then you can relax a little, you kind of calm your brain down from saying, Oh my gosh, how on earth are we going to get five new store accounts? Instead, you're gonna say, you're gonna multiply that you're gonna say, I want to get into 50 store accounts. And then it's like, your brain can relax because you're like, No, no, don't worry brain. It's impossible. We're not gonna freak out. And you can kind of start to relax, and then you can get to work. And all along the way your brain kind of eases and when our brain eases, then we actually can find the solutions. And what you're going to find is that you will be so much more willing to fail.

Failure is absolutely the key to your success. Progress is made up of attempts and they are not all going to result in success. Now I know he might have just freaked out a little when I said, failing is required. But think about it, there is absolutely no success without failure. Failure is how we move forward. It's how we learn. It's how we grow. It's how we evolve and become the person that does have 50 store accounts. It's not always about the end journey. That's amazing, right? If you did reach your impossible goal, but think about who you would have to become along the way to get into 50 stores, you would have to get over yourself, get over the possibility of getting a no, right? You would have to be willing to put yourself out there and do crazy things, things that you might not ever be willing to do if your goal is too small. What if you tell yourself, I want to get 20 no's. That's a great way to reframe it to say, I want to get the failures. I want to fill up the failure folder full of 20 no's, because if you are willing to get those 20 no's, you're going to get some yes's along the way. So you might convince yourself to not do that. And quotes, you know, kind of squash down that desire. And my experience has been that when you start squashing that little voice, it just keeps getting louder. It's like knock, knock. And then like KNOCK, KNOCK. And sometimes you're actually going to create circumstances where it's like you are left with nothing else. I really believe that when you have a desire, it'll just keep getting louder. And sometimes that means it's going to pull down parts of your life if you don't listen to it. What is the cost of not pursuing your dreams? Of not pursuing your goals? Do you want to live an extraordinary life where you are achieving goals and moving forward and evolving and growing? Or do you just want to live a life that's fine? And if you do, that's not a problem. But I'm guessing that's why you're here today- to live an extraordinary life. My invitation to you is to dream big, to sit down and really think about what you want to go for, what you want your life to be. If we've learned nothing from 2020 it's that life is short, and life is meant to be lived. So go out there, I want you to commit to this, I want you to dream the big dream and make it impossible. So you have that vision of yourself in the future and think about who you will be? Will you be more confident? Will you feel more comfortable doing Instagram lives or approaching a buyer or putting down money in a program or towards your Amazon dollars or promotions? Or investing in a label refresh? Like what are the feelings you will feel? Proud. Confident. So you step into that version of yourself and you start identifying in the first person, I am that confident person. Nw! You have to step into it now! I am the person who can figure anything out. I am proud of myself. I celebrate my small wins, right? Go back and listen to that podcast Celebrating Your Small Wins. I am the person who takes risks. I believe in myself. And I do not believe that you're going to create like this, this isn't part of you already. You are just revealing this part of yourself that you already have within you. You are all of these things; you are confident, you are a risk taker, you are proud of yourself, you are successful. You are 100% worthy right now. These are within you and this is a journey about revealing it about uncovering it.

Another really interesting question to think about is, as you're as you're considering your goal and whether you're going to do this and commit and go all in on yourself is will someone create the food business dream that you are envisioning? Will somebody grow their business to a million in sales next year? 100%. Why can't it be you? If somebody else is going to do that, if hundreds of people, 1000s of people 10s of 1000s of people are going to start a business this year to grow their business? Why not you? So as we head into the new year, I would love for you to take some time to envision this, to really get into all five senses. What would it feel like? What would it taste like? What would you be wearing? Who would you be with? Really lean into this vision. Have fun with it, you know, go big, we tell our kids that they can be anything they want. We want them to go big in their imagination. And then as adults, we we quash that, right? We squelch it. And we say no, no, I have to be sensible, I have to be practical. Thank you to people who are willing to be risk takers, who are willing to try new things. I mean, think about everything in our life is a result of somebody being willing to take a risk, and go after what was impossible. I mean, a car was impossible, my computer was impossible at one time, my iPhone, the refrigerator, all of the things that we love today, were once impossible. So I invite you to go crazy, get a little wild and go big in your imagination and lean into it. I want to invite you to just stay in the impossible goal visioning this week as we head into 2021. Like really embrace it and start giving that gratitude ahead of time. And I did a podcast on that couple episodes ago. So go back and listen to that. But spend this time and resist the urge to start asking your brain how. What happens is we set that goal and we immediately go to the how, right? That's where we start getting all up in our brain and say how I need to know the how ahead of time. And I know that this is true, because you tell me over and over again. I don't know how. Sari, give me the how, how am I going to reach this? My coach likes to say the How is the gift that you get at the end of the journey.
Sari 12:32
I give you a lot of the how, I give you a container inside Food Business Success, where we make sure that you are legal, that you have your food safety pieces in place, that your labels are the best that they can possibly be and are compliant, that you have a go to market strategy, that if you want to go on Amazon or start your own website, or start approaching buyers, I give you all of those how's. But ultimately, the how of how you're going to achieve your impossible goal is not something that is a magic formula. There's no magic bullet that I can give you. But I can give you the accountability and the support and the expertise and the safety net to keep trying, to keep failing- to fail forward- and spend time this week giving yourself the gift of envisioning your impossible goal, where you will be at the end of 2021 and what you will be celebrating. And if you want that help and that accountability and support, that container, for taking action towards your impossible goal? Then I do want to invite you to join Food Business Success, make that commitment, muster up the courage and go for it in 2021. Next episode we are going to talk more about the how and how to fail better. Fail to actually achieve your goals. So I look forward to speaking with you in the new year and until then have an amazing week.
